What A Beautiful Day...Sun Shining For Our Walk Then Up To The White Stuff!

We had just a beautiful day here on Saturday.  Sun shining for our walk around the serene Deer Lake, made us realize just how lucky we are here in Vancouver.  When the rest of the country and most of the continent are dealing with the most unpleasant cold, we get the best of both worlds.

While there may be no snow in the city we are so fortunate to be able to drive up the mountain and enjoy the white stuff when we please.   Saturday evening we were able to enjoy clear skies and an amazing snowshoe hike up to a warming hut, where our guides prepared chocolate fondue for us until we were completely stuffed.  We warmed up with hot chocolate and cider and a  ton

of laughs before we got our snowshoes back on and headed down to our cars. Guides Kim and Kelvin gave us some educational info about the mountains and the trees we were walking through and even shared the 11^th essential of hiking... always bring a plastic bag.... for some impromptu sliding when there is snow.   Just like kids again, forget the magic carpets, plastic bags are easier to carry and work just as well. Events And Adventures Vancouver

We Finally Got Snow....So We Went Tubing!

So Vancouverites don’t very often get snow, and sometimes the rain just gets to be too much.  With long periods of rain this winter, but dryer than normal, even the mountains have been lacking the white stuff.  After a couple of tries we finally got to go tubing last Saturday, and boy were we happy about it.  I have to admit, I am like a little kid when it snows, happier than a pig in mud is putting it mildly. For some reason it just makes me grin from ear to ear.  I wasn’t the only one.  Driving up the mountain during a crazy wind and rain storm and into a snow covered land had us all pretty excited.  WE FINALLY got to tube down the mountain in donuts and chains, spinning and laughing the night away.  We even got to see a little sunshine over the ocean and mountains before it hid away for the eveningAfter spending a couple of hours walking up and sliding down, with conditions changing a couple of times, we all went out for an amazing meal nearby.  Feeling tired from all the exercise but truly worth all the fun! Events And Adventures Vancouver

So Much Fun In 2013...Looking Forward To 2014!

So we have started a brand new year, it’s hard to believe all the fun we had in 2013.  I know many of us did things we never thought we would do, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding,  paragliding and camping with over 100 other people.  A lot of us have met people that we’re actually neighbours that we would have never run into if it weren’t for Events & Adventures.  There is lots to look forward to in 2014 and while many of our friends and family are stuck in negative temperatures and enduring harsh weather in the east, at least we only have the rain to deal with...lol.  Here’s some very cool pictures of our adventures of 2013,  that were taken in some of our more glorious weather, just to remind you how lucky we really are to live where we do, and also of the great friends we have made.  Cheers to 2014 and the many more things we will do this year. Events And Adventures Vancouver

New Years Eve And A Cold Plunge!

Definitely the Party of 2013, we did it in style.  High atop the Harbour and city we rang in the new year with an amazing meal, tuns of dancing, lots of laughs and  a few after parties that made it almost to daybreak.  The relationships made at E&A are some of the most amazing  I have ever seen.   Great groups of friends that will share all of their time together and always invite others to participate.  The laughs, the love and the endless hugs between people that were just a short time ago, strangers, is a pretty wicked sight to see.  Happy 2014, may we meet even more great friends and share more endless laughs together in 2014!

Nothing like jumping in the drink on New Year's day to start the year off right.  All of us attended the NYE Bash downtown and made our  way to the beach to take the ultimate plunge.  Surprisingly, the water didn't even seem that cold.  Perfect way to start of the year!!! Searching for Walter Mitty......
